Ellie was so fun in this shoot. She sat still and posed for me the entire time...as long as I sang the ABC song for her. When we were done, O showed up with Ellie's tea pot, brimming with fresh water and the two of them sat down to a little "tea party" in her room. In my religion we don't drink tea or coffee, so Owen kept calling it "herby tea" (herbal tea), just to be sure. :) I love how having a little girl has brought out the soft side of my boys. I think it will be good for them in the long run; besides, the whole "destructive boys" thing was getting a little costly!
Today was absolutely beautiful! We were able to get out the library with a friend this morning, and then we had a few friends over this afternoon as well. Because of the sunshine (hooray!), we were able to let them all escape outside to run and play. When I let Ellie out the door, she ran circles around the backyard like a hyper-active puppy! You'd think she'd never seen sunshine before! The kids climbed trees, rode bikes, dug holes in the mud, rolled down our backyard hill in a Tonka truck and even played a little soccer and basketball. It was so nice! I can not wait for spring, I think we've had enough winter here to last a few years.
Oh, and I posted this about Lincoln on Facebook today, but I want to remember it:
"My Lincoln is very efficient. Dan told him to go get his pajama's on tonight and he came down zipping up his footy pajamas on top of a new pair of school clothes. We asked him why and he said, "Well, I was thinking about it, and this will make mornings so much easier!" This is the same kid who hates sleeping under the covers cause he'll have to make his bed again in the morning. Love it!"
Bring on the pictures!
Sweet little lady.
No problems with the self-esteen in this one!
"Tea party!"
