Logan's Adventure

I love all of my children differently. They are each so unique. I love Lincoln's hugs and Owen's questions. I love Logan's escapades and the way Ellie brings me anything she finds remotely interesting. Our house is filled with all of these personalities combined to make a unique family recipe. I also love how Dan's and my differences are added to the mix. Dan likes to stay home and spend time together watching a movie, or playing the wii together. He loves good music, good food and is so proud of his children. I am always itching to be out and about. I love parties, I love nature, I like doing things. It's funny to see how little pieces of us are reflected in our kids. Logan takes after my personality. He is not happy if he's not doing something. Linc is 100% Dan. Owen is a good mix of both of us and Ellie, I think has a lot of me in her.
Today I took the boys to a church primary party while Dan stayed home with Ellie. It's been raining here for a few days, and on the way home we drove past a little stream that is around the block from our house. I've always loved the spot because the trees are thick there and it is just pretty, but today the flood waters were high and it reminded my of the bayou. It was very beautiful. So, after getting Ellie off to her nap, and having a little lunch, I grabbed my fantastic new camera (that is still over-whelming to me) and my adventurous little boy and left the other three boys home to play together. I knew I couldn't take everyone because getting good pictures while keeping three little boys safe from being washed upstream just isn't possible.
Anyway, it was so nice to have time with Logan. I swear he matures more and more everyday. He is just a great kid. He brought along a little pie pan and a few action figures to take sailing, but that just wasn't enough for him. He had to be in the water himself...never mind that it is January and all the snow just melted a few days ago! He asked me where my "adventurous spirit" was when I declined his invitation to join him in the water. No thank you! While he played in the water, I played with my camera. I'll stop babbling now and post some of my favorites before I go to bed. We start with the early church schedule tomorrow! Good night.

Oh, and a few more I took here at home. Since I now have this new camera I'm trying to figure out, I've been shooting Logan and the others more than normal and just deleting as I learn. I was doing just that this afternoon while they were at the table eating corn dogs. Logan sat there munching his food, leaning on one hand, staring out the window while I clicked away and he said with a sigh, "This is what I get, having a Mom who's a photographer." Poor kids. Maybe we should get a puppy, then I could practice on him and spare the kids. :) Until then, here are a few of my little man.

Looks like Logan had a lot of fun. Great pictures. You are such a fun mom to let him explore like that.

A new camera!?! I'm soooo jealous! Do you have any old lenses that you want to sell? :)

I was thinking the same thing as Ashley. I need to let Noah just explore more often. I let myself get caught up in thinking about the cleanup that I don't just let go enough. Thanks for the beautiful pics and for the 'reminder'!
