A Great Day

Yesterday was a great day. It's funny when you think about what makes a day great. Anything from getting a check in the mail, to a call from an old friend can turn and ordinary day into a great one, and sometimes, nothing in particular happens, but at the end of the day you look back and realize that it was great, just because. Then, there are those days that are great simply because they occur after a long streak of "not so great" ones, and you find yourself at last catching a break. Finally, some days are great because you realize that no matter how many things you don't have, you still have so much. Yesterday was like that for me. My life is not perfect...I learned long ago that I will be learning and changing for the rest of it; still, if I were to tally up all of my troubles and compare them to my blessings, I am sure the scales would topple in my favor. I am a very blessed person.

So, from yesterday, here are some pictures of four of those blessings, and some other fun experiments. I've been using my spare time to learn and read all I can about photography and I am really having fun with it. Some day I may even be able to afford some of the equipment I want, but today, I am so grateful for what I already have!

As usual, here are a ton of pics from yesterday!

Logan loves looking after Ellie. That is another blessing. He actually asks me if he can watch her so I can relax. I can't fully relax yet because he's only seven, but it is very nice when I'm trying to take pictures!

Loved her hands!

These next ones are our morning ritual. Ellie hates seeing Daddy go to work. She stares at his car till he's out of sight.

Loved her spiky hair. This is what happens to her hair when we take her pony tails out.

These last few are from a photography exercise I did yesterday. I used the kids as Guinea Pigs. Some were more happy about it than other. :)
