Our visit was full of sitting around and watching the kids be kids. It was relaxed and fun and though we did get out a little, it was just fun to be together. We did make it over to a new restaurant called Gone Fishin' in Madison and I finally tried catfish for my first time. I know, we've been in the south for four years now and haven't tried it, but the fact that I did at all is a miracle. I have a very strict rule about what I eat. Tentacles, antennae, and more than four legged critters are strictly taboo. Oh, and nothing still living please, or that I have to kill myself. I'd love to try the Julia Child challenge, but boiling a lobster just "ain't happenin'!"
Okay, so enough rambling, here are the pictures! I'm done with my semester now so I'll be back soon! Really though, there are a ton....I will not be offended if you exit my blog now....now or never!!! mwah ha ha.........ahem...sorry.
I REALLY wanted to get a family picture, and this was the best we could do. I really like these actually. I think this shows our little family in our true light. It took a lot of planning, whining, crying, scraped knees and everything else to get these. Thanks for helping Abuela!
Love that one with Ellie and her Abuela!
And now, some of the boys in the yard. We had a snail infestation (ewww) and the boys loaded them up in jars and piles of dirt. All I could think as I watched them wiggle and writhe was that people actually eat these things! Let's add "slime and shells" to my list of no-go eatery. Yuck.
We went out and bought a ton of herbs and tomatoes to put in planters on our deck and Ellie though the pitcher of water I used was the funnest toy on the planet. Sweetie.
And then, to Bridge street for a ride or two on the carousel!
of course you can't ride a carousel with out Maggie Moo's Ice cream! It was very hot that day too. I had a nice little sunburn to prove it.
Still my little boy.
Back in the house, just playing around!
It's usually wrestle mania around here. I loved these. The pics below were so funny too. I was trying to get them to sit "nice" for one pic, it was not easy!
The boys threw a concert for us. They made us all wear hats and they all performed solo's on their various instruments. It was a black tie affair of course.
Ellie loves her Buelo!
This girl has a talent of making a mess. Seriously, I can give her ONE m&m and she can spread it all over her face, arms, shirt, car-seat...you get the picture.
Scripture time is very important to Owen. :) I think he wore himself out everyday of the visit!
Kiss Kiss.
And finally...if you're still with me.....all of us together! It took some rigging to get this picture. Picture me balancing my camera on my backpack, setting the timer and running like the wind. I really liked it though!
And since you're still reading this...come on, I know you are...I wanted to say that Mothers day was absolutely fantastic yesterday. I woke up to a dozen handmade cards, a treasure hunt put together by Logan, and a wonderful breakfast of french toast and orange juice. I am a very lucky girl! Hope all you Mom's out there had a great day too!
Okay, I am done. Wooowwweeeee!
