Wow, it's been busy around here. We've done everything from pine-wood derby and basketball, to a fun-run and a few bouts of the flu! Lincoln was sick first, and then Owen, and then Ellie. The rest of us have managed to avoid it so far! I've been clorox wiping and sanitizing like crazy around here! I think we're over the worst of it.
Logan had his Pinewood derby last week. He and Dan made his car a little last minute, but I thought it turned out pretty cool. They already have big plans for next year! I loved watching Logan at the race. He will turn eight next week and "officially" become a cub scout and he is so excited. Finally, he will have a place to channel all that extra energy. Speaking of turning eight, he will be getting baptized soon as well. I'll post an invite for any of you who are interested. I'm blocking out the address on it, just as a precaution, so if you need it, just talk with Dan or I and we can get it to you.
Our valentines day came and went and the boys had a lot of fun. Logan got a valentine from a secret admirer and I think he really liked that. Linc wrote personal hearts to all the girls in his class (he loves them all) and Owen had a lot of fun at his pre-school. They always do the cutest things. He even made me a blue flower from a daisy and some food coloring.
The boys ran their booster-thon fun run last week and did really well! I didn't bring my camera, but Owen got to run a few laps with Linc, and they both ran the entire time. I was so proud of them. Thanks to everyone who helped sponsor them!
Dan's birthday is tomorrow and his parents are coming Friday for Logan's baptism and the older two boys birthdays so it should be a pretty busy week. Oh, and school is going well for me. It's starting to sink in that I am actually going to graduate this spring. I've worked on it for such a long time, it's a little surreal that I'm almost done. I do have a nice long masters program to look forward to still though. :)
Okay, enough with the updates, here are some of my favorite shots from the past few weeks. Have a great day everyone!
Logan's car was given the "Iron Man" award. I personally preferred the "Silver Bullet", but what do I know?
Cute, happy kids on valentines day morning. Logan made us all cinnamon toast...his own recipe!
The roses...Dan's so good to me.
Doesn't she look so happy?
My favorite of the group.
Okay, maybe this one was. She's pointing at her food. She's so proud of herself.
Sick little Owen threw-up on himself and so we had to give him a bath. He was feeling so lousy, so after his bath, I wrapped him up and sent him to cuddle with Ellie's big teddy. I think it helped him feel better! He's pretending to sleep in that right picture.
Poor kid.
We dumped a bunch of seed out on the deck while we were making bird feeders the other day and our deck has been "the place to be" ever since. I pulled a muscle in my neck for these pictures. Dan was a little worried about me when he came downstairs and saw me bundled up, lying on the floor on my belly with the back door open. It was worth it. :)
Making the feeders.
Always looking up, this one.
Stil a little sick.
Ellie loves to pretend to play! She always sings her favorite song, "I am a Child of God" from her church class.
These are not my dogs. They are the neighbors who run all over the neighborhood. I don't like that they are out because they're just to big and playful for my little ones, but they were fun to photograph. They really are sweet dogs.
Finally, Owen is reading...I guess that happens when you have big brothers. I love to watch him sit and read. He can come out of quiet time early if he reads six take home readers! He thinks he's pulling a fast one on me. :)
