My classes start.
Don't misunderstand me...I'm so happy to be in school, and I'm sooo close to my bachelors, but it is very tricky juggling everything, and I just hope and pray I have the ability to keep it up a few more semesters.
I'm a Speech Pathology major and I absolutely love it. I love hearing things when I'm with others that I never noticed before. I love feeling like my profession, when I am at that point, will be something I like, and something that will benefit others. I love how proud Dan is. I think he is just as excited about it as I am. That makes everything easier. I don't think I could do it without his support.
Anyway, I guess the purpose of all this rambling is to say, that I may not be posting as much as I'd like. Photography is something I absolutely love, but it will have to take a back seat to my classes. If I don't prioritize, I'll go crazy. Of course, I'm not saying that I won't post anything, I am just going to restrain myself from taking as many pictures as I would like to for the next few months. (Insert a sniffle here if you'd like, I did.)
In honor of classes starting again, and as a last, "hoorah!", I just edited a few pictures from the weekend. Dan was gone on business, but we all needed to get out of the house, so we headed down to the Green-U festival at the botanical gardens. The kids each brought their five recyclable (now that's a fun word to say!) items and got in for free. It was a lot of fun! They got to throw their recyclables into a big basket ball hoop, and they had a rock wall, and lots of fun activities for the kids. It was definitely worth the heat!
Well, I guess that's all for now. I'll be back, but please wish me luck! I'm going to need it, I'm into all of my higher level classes now...yikes.
Bring on the pics!
Just starting out the day...
One of the tables were giving away these bags, that the kids could decorate. I laughed because every time one of the activities involved coloring, Lincoln and Owen would take forever! They love coloring and drawing, and the take their art very seriously.
Owen wanted a snake on his face, and after he got it, he wanted me to wash it off. :) I convinced him to wait until we got home.
Hiss...
Linc was making sure she did it just right. He picked a monkey and when the girl asked him what color he wanted it to be, he looked at her like she was clueless and said, "brown of course!" Oh boy. Don't worry stranger, I get that all the time!
I have to say, I'm just not seeing a monkey here. I don't think Linc did either. The stencils were a good idea, but the paint was pretty runny and didn't hold a shape very well.
What's cooler than a talking recycling receptacle? Absolutely nothing, that's what!
Well, maybe one thing. I tell you, blow pops were my favorite candy when I was little, and if this weren't my daughter, and I didn't love her more than life, that candy would have been mine.
Making bracelets. I thought all the girls helping at these different tables were so nice! Owen's beads fell off of his bracelet (the bracelet that took him fifteen minutes to make) when he was trying to tie it, and one girl was so sweet to him and helped him fix the entire thing. I was very impressed.
While the younger boys made bracelets, Logan was waiting in line for the rock wall.
It was a long wait...I think Logan got a little bored.
He didn't smile once. Not even in line. He wanted to climb, but I could tell he was a little nervous. I asked him if he was going to try to make it to the top and he said, "Dad always tells me I need to be brave, so yeah, I'm going to try."
He started out very strong...
...and then half way up, he was done. :)
I asked him how he liked it and he said, "I got a really funny feeling in my stomach, and I felt like it was time to come down." Cutie.
These were actually really cool. You put some soil with grass seed into a piece of nylon, attach a face, put in water, and wait for the hair to grow. The boys were all over this one and their creations are in our front window right now.
I liked this exhibit too. The boys got make their own "bird" (A feather and a clothespin) and then the birds got to go fishing (for swedish fish) in some oily water. After their fish was oily, they had to clean it in water that had Dawn dish soap. They explained about the oil spill and how each bird took about four (I could be off on that number) hours to clean, with three people cleaning it.
Logan is always so good to his brothers.
They had one exhibit that had cardboard houses and castles you could buy. I don't think they'd last two hours at this house, but the boys thought they were pretty cool.
Good ole' Linc. Okay, that's it.
Classes, here I come!

Good luck with classes! What are you taking this semester?
First off, you're going to be awesome in your classes! Secondly, you still manage to fit in a zillion more photos than I do, and I'm not in classes! So give yourself more credit. :) All the same, good luck!
I love the pics! What a fun day!!! And best of luck to you in school. Thumbs up for your dilligence and hard work!!!
