Lots of Sun

We had a fun Fourth of July this year, even though it was a quiet one. We had planned to spend the fourth with some friends, but Owen woke up yesterday with an eye infection, and so we had to stay home.
I took the oldest two to church, and after we had a yummy dinner of barbecue chicken, cheesy potatoes and corn on the cob with apple cobbler for dessert. Then we watched a ton of different fireworks shows on t.v. until it got dark. After it was dark, we opened all the blinds in the house and had fun watching the boys run from window to window, watching all the fireworks being shot off in our neighborhood. I have to say, our neighborhood is fantastic with their patriotism, we always get a big show!
I actually didn't take any pictures yesterday, but I do have some I took earlier this week when the kids were playing out in the sun. Also, I forgot to mention that Ellie now has enough hair for pig tails, so instead of one little palm tree on top, she has two! She reminds me of a bug with antennas.
It's been a good week. As usual, I feel very blessed....if only I could find an off button on Ellie every once in a while, I would be completely happy. The girl does not stop. All day long she is exploring and tearing things apart. It's exhausting and hilarious. (Though I'm not sure which one wins the competition.)
Well, I better go, Owen is asking the "Princess" to get him a drink of milk, (I got that nickname from Super Mario Brothers, I'm not complaining!) so I'd better run. Let's bring on the pictures!

Linc tries so hard to watch after Ellie, if only he were a little older...still, he can manage alright.

This was right before Logan threw O in the pool.

O always does the dive arms.

What's better than a hug in a basket?

Ahh...allow me a moment to just stare into those eyes!

Ellie is not one to be caged....apparently.

Ellie and markers (washable, don't worry) is a bad combination. I "love" how she managed to get the marker in her mouth, up her nose and in her ears! Ewww.

Photobucket
Still so happy with herself!

I loved the mirror shot, so I had to try a few with a clean Ellie Belly.

Little sardines. The boys were sleeping the office on the floor last week because Dan needs to fix the wall in their room (we had a leak). I came up to check on them and found them like this.

Glad you had a quietly fun 4th ;) sometimes that's just the best! I can remember some of the greatest fun times playing in the hose/slip-n-slide in the summer- what great captions you've gotten of these times. I bet your kiddos will love having these memories to look back on, almost as much as you. ;)
