Kids Life Update

I love, love love spring!!!!

What a great day. I got to go with some ladies to temple this morning and it was so nice to be out. The drive was green and beautiful and when I got home I got to go on a run and enjoy it all again. :) The kids seems happier (for the most part), our yard is looking green again, and I'm just happy. Spring does that to me. Winter is hard, so when it is finally over, I feel like I can breathe in some fresh air and relax. It will be even better in a few weeks when I take my last final of the semester! ;)

Anyway, enough about me, lets get to the good stuff....the kids. Ellie is now in nursery at church and so far so good. She cried a little bit last week, but once I had one of the young women sneak her binki into her, she did really well! She is all over the place lately, pulling towels out of drawers, climbing onto chairs. She loves her soft furry animals and her babies, but she also likes to play with her brothers star wars characters. She can still scream like no one else, but she's starting to add some words into the mix. She pulls the funniest faces I've ever seen and she loves having her brothers chase her. Some times she'll steal their toys, just so they'll chase her down. She laughs and laughs about it too. She is always trying to sit on peoples lap. She'll grab a book, aim her bottom and let it lead the way. It's too cute.

Owen is turning into one smart little cookie. To Dan's and my surprise, he picked up a beginning reader the other day and read the entire thing! Who knew? I guess he's trying to keep up with his brothers. He is our funny man. He loves to take words and change the first letters, like "Powen" for "Owen", or "Puck" for "Duck". He'll speak an entire sentence that way. It's a little dangerous actually, who knows what will come out! O loves to go on walks. He is still nervous around bugs, but since we told him they are only trying to find food for their babies, he's been better about that. He loves electric boxes, and warning labels. He points out every sign and label he finds. It's amazing how many things have warnings on them! He loves to play the Wii with Linc in the afternoons. He likes the boxing and sword play games the best.

Lincoln, Lincoln. Let's see....where to start. Linc is so much fun. He loves to draw pictures and he's getting very good at drawing people with different facial features. He loves playing the Wii too, and will spend hours creating new Mii's. Linc likes to dig in the mud and ride his bike. He doesn't like being outside for long, but when he is out there, he's usually doing one of those things. He also likes to climb the tree in our front yard and pretends to be a monkey. Linc is sweet and try's so hard to keep his temper. When he gets excited, he shows it with his entire body. He is still obsessed with cheese sticks, fruit and pickels and he told me yesterday that he has "lots and lots and lots of friends." We are very proud of him!

Logan is our family protector. He watches after everybody and likes to make sure we are all happy. He even takes care of Dan and me. He is doing really well in school. He has a good sized collection of Star Wars toys that he protects from his little brother and sister, and he loves to take pictures and video's of things. I'll have to find some and post them some time. Logan is an idea man. There is rarely anything going on that he doesn't have an opinion on how to make it better. He likes to read to Linc and O at night. Lately he's been pulling out their little scripture readers and reading them. He likes to be with his friends, sweep the floors at school during lunch break, and watch Star Wars the Clone Wars episodes.

That's about it for the kid update. Since I can't post anything without pictures, I'll go ahead and post a few from this week. I sure am grateful for my children. Even though I am busy with so many things, they are the most important thing to me and I am blessed to be their mother!

Great pictures, as always! You guys have the sweetest little family!

I thought of you the other night - have you seen the movie "Bright Star?" It's one of those period romances that I remember you love, about the poet Keats. Great love story, but sad. I really liked it - it's one of those movies you keep thinking about for days after watching!
