It Finally Happened

Deep in the back of my mind I knew this day would come. From the day it was delivered, I could sense it was destined for destruction. I ignored these feelings, hoping that I was just being paranoid, but alas, I could not ignore the truth. Our brand new, very expensive, 48 inch LCD (aka Dan's baby) has met it's fate and the little destroying angel is, as some of you may have guessed, Owen.

Let me lay out the scenario. One mini Jedi knight, one purple light saber, one split second, one mighty blow, one piece of garbage tv, one VERY in-trouble little boy!

Light Sabers are now banned from our house and I am restricting any shows from Owen that go beyond the ABC's and 123's. (which should be easy now that our TV is trash) The sweet child is not even going to know what a weapon looks like till he's 32......at least!

I'm sure some of you are wondering how Dan took the news. First, understand that Dan loves TV. He is a movie guy, a travel channel junky and a huge football fan. He's had his eye on an LCD for years and did all his homework when buying this thing! He was out of town this week again, so I broke it to him via text message. I felt that would be safest. :) He was sooo good about it, and even asked how I was feeling before getting the specs on the damage. I think he could tell I was a little stressed! The TV shows the crack where Owen whopped it, and techno colored streaks up and down the entire screen. It's basically garbage. sigh...I'll just have to add this to Owen's pay us back in twenty years list right below, two cell phones, a lap top, two couches, a DVD player, four fish and a stained ceiling, (over flow from the bathroom sink above) just to name a few.
I love him and I'm telling you that if he didn't have his adorable big blue eyes, I don't know where he'd be today!

Here's a few pics. Dan must be recovering alright because he asked me to take these before throwing the light sabers away. He tried to do one picture smiling, but I reminded him about how sad Daddy was going to be and the rest of the pictures were his sad face. He kept saying, "I sahwy I boke it." I really think he means it too. I can tell you one thing though, he's not getting with in ten feet of my camera!

Only Owen.

This is the shot where I reminded him these were not happy pictures!

It's late

I've been doing homework all night and it's way later than I should be up, but I couldn't go to sleep with out doing something to unwind, so I thought I'd post a few pics of one of the boys I love so much. I've always been a sucker for baseball hats. Well, good night!

Handsome.

This was his reaction to, "just one more!"

Love this boy! It's so nice having him and his imagination home. Messier, but so nice!

Nothing in Particular!

I was getting dinner ready tonight and the kids were all doing their own things. They all like to be close to where I am, in fact I think I'm part magnet and they have a lot of iron or something in their blood, because where ever I am in the house, they tend to be. I'm not complaining at all, I hope they always want to be close! In fact, watching them today, and seeing the sun shine in from my large kitchen windows was more than I could handle with out pulling out my camera! What can I say? I'm completely addicted to them, and photography! Here are a bunch from this afternoon and dinner. They are a little out of order, but since I got them on, I'm not messing with them! :)

She's on the move!

Eating icecream from the container. Am I a great mom or what?

At least I did make them finish their dinner first! Logan and Linc went as fast as they could....

....Not as much luck with Owen though. He is a very stubborn eater! Even a carton of icecream wouldn't convince him to eat his dinner!

And just a few more!

A Peek Into Ellie's Crib

Just thought I'd share these cute pics of Ellie's nap time. Every day and night when I lay her down, she peeks at my with her sweet little smile through the bars. She kicks her legs and usually is very excited to be in her crib. She's always been a good sleeper. She is starting to get a little sad when she is alone, but for the most part, she is just happy to be in bed. (Sorry to all of you who have kids who hate sleep!) These pictures were taken today, before she fell asleep. Ellie sits up on her own now, so she spends a little time in her crib playing before she falls asleep! As I am posting this, I hear Ellie laughing. Owen is in her crib playing with her. He loves his little sister! I took a quick picture of that too that I'll post at the end. I know a few of these pics are posted twice, I was playing around with them today and liked a few of them both ways, so I thought I'd post both!

At Home

Yesterday was the first day our family got to be together in over a week. Dan was down to the last shuttle launch, which was delayed and then delayed some more. It didn't end up going up at all, so he was gone for a week for nothing.
:( Anyway, since he hadn't been here, he took yesterday off. We tried to go to a free movie at the Rave, but I read the schedule wrong, so we stopped in at the library instead. I laugh that the boys are just as happy to be at the library, as they were to go to the movie. They weren't even disappointed with the change of plans!
After we got home, we did some house work. We pulled out all our summer decorations, and cleaned my disaster of a kitchen. In the evening one of the boys favorite little persons came over to play. They love A and she loves them. She especially likes baby Ellie! :) All in all, it was a good day, and now I have to get back to cleaning, and studying, and keeping my kids alive. Have fun everyone! Here are a few pics I took yesterday.

I love how sweet O is to Ellie.

up close.

My new favorite Ellie angle.
