Dinner anyone?

So, I'm posting this at the risk of somewhat embarrassing myself. (sorry if I'm talking funny; I just finished reading 'Persuasion' by Jane Austen today so my grammar may sound a bit....proper.) Anyway, I had one of those moments where I thanked the Heavens that I was home and downstairs at the right time. It was also the kind of experience from which I realized that I really should show a lot of patience toward my children when they destroy things accidentally. They inherited their destructive abilities without a doubt from me, and sometimes I tend to forget that.
Well, let this be a reminder.

If you are wondering what this is, or should I say was, it was the outcome of a battle between our breadmaker and my stove. If you're wondering what happened, well let's just say the knobs on my oven are very touchy and one little bump was all it took to massacre my pizza dough. Like I mentioned, I happened to be downstairs when this happened. I was playing Candyland with Owen, and I would have won too had I not been rudely interupted by the popping of the incredibly now-toasted breadmaker motor. The burnt plastic smell was enough to cause nausia and the smoke filled up the house within seconds. Luckily we keep a fire extinguisher downstairs in the kitchen (I confess this wasn't my first offence at setting dinner to flames). Unluckily however, because this wasn't my first offence, the extinguisher had lost its pressure and was useless. Luckily once more, there were not flames, only smoke and stench, so within a few days, our house was smelling somewhat fresh again, and with some help from one of Dan's chisles, our stove doesn't show any signs of the battle. Not so much could be said for the breadmaker though. I think it lost. Oh well, you win some, you lose some!

On a happier note I'm posting more pictures of the kids. I know I take a lot, but I love it so much. Babies are sooo fun to photograph. I could do it all day!

Here's Ellie's new thing...chewing on her shirts.

Love those toes!

Uh-oh, she's about to.....

tip!

Tummy time!

Ever busy Owen.

Sweet boy.

Scrunchy Ellie!

Can you guess whose hands? Owen's.

Lincoln's pumpkin eyes.

Speaking of eyes, I did something kind of fun. I wanted to compare my kids eyes. Just to see the similarities and differences. Here they are. I thought it was kind of cool. Different, yet similar.

Logan

Lincoln

Owen (one of these things is not like the other)

Oh dear! So sorry about your bread maker. You sure have a funny way of telling your tale, though. :)

I love the eyes. They are so beautiful. That's a fun idea...I might need to borrow that one. :)

super fun pics! Sorry about the bread maker. It seems like because you can blog about it it seems to make it less annoying and a little more tolerable! Something you can laugh at later!

Yea you posted it! I was wondering if I'd ever see what it looked like. Luckily you can't post the smell, or I'd have to block your page for a while! So I love the eye idea. I have some, but for some reason didn't think to do that side by side for comparison. Genious! And love all the Elle pictures!

I feel ya on ruining stuff. I have hit stuff with my car 3 times in the last month, and I just melted my lampshade/Addie's extremely expensive blanket... I threw the blanket over the lamp to dim it while I was getting Addie to sleep, but apparently the shade had bumped against the bulb and burnt a hole through the shade and her blanket.... now I have to get a new lamp and blanket.

I love the eyes pictures - what a fabulous idea! Yes - thankfully the gestational diabetes will go away after the pregnancy; unfortunately, the baby and I will both be at a higher risk of developing type II later in life, but as long as we stay healthy, we should be okay. But man, talk about an inconvience - I just went from happily pregnant to ready for this thing to be over!
