Grandparent's Visit and a Baptism

Sweet Linc got baptized! He has been looking forward to this day for a few years. :) Dan and I felt bad that he would be baptized away from all his family and friends, but we were lucky enough to have Abuela and Abuelo come and our ward really helped out a lot too. We felt very blessed! I took a few pics of Linc looking big and eight in his sunday best, and then of course a few shots from the day. Dan's mom and I gave the talks while Logan and Owen gave the prayers. Dan performed the baptism and confirmation and Abuelo and Branigan Knowlton were our witnesses. I also roped my two sweet friends, Erica and Kendra to take care of the music for us. The spirit was so strong there and Linc was warm and happy and really excited about making his covenants with Heavenly Father! The water was not as warm as we would as we would have liked and we should have filled the font a little higher, because poor Linc had to be re-dunked twice after his first time, but in the end, he made it and he has been so happy ever since! Here's the pictures from his special day. Thanks to all those who helped make it so special, near and far!

While Abuela and Abuelo were here, we got to tour all over DC with them! The entire family took a trip together on a Saturday to visit the Museum of American history, and then the following week Ellie and I walked with them around the tidal base to visit all the big national monuments. That was a lot of fun, though I think all of our bodies ached by the end of it! We let the boys play hooky on their last day here and we all toured the Capitol Building. That building was by far my favorite (besides the Lincoln Memorial) and it was the one building I didn't bring my camera too so I will be going back! For some reason I thought I couldn't bring it, but I was very wrong and very sad about it. Luckily my MIL had her phone, so we still got some pictures. We also got to see the Library of Congress which held one of the Gutenberg bibles and an amazing exhibit of some of the books from Thomas Jeffersons library.
Thanks for a fantastic trip Abuela y Abuelo! See you in Rio.   :)

Okay, now get ready...here's a whole lot of DC!

Smithsonian Museum of American History...mainly outside cause the kids were a little wild in there! Next time perhaps.

The ledge our kids got kicked off of after a block or two.

Tidal Basin Walk, starting with a stop at the White House. Ellie has no clue where she is!

This gorgeous courtyard in the Organization of American States building!

Vietnam Memorial

WWII Memorial

On the steps of Lincoln Memorial

 One tired baby girl!

My Fave.

 Korean War Memorial

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial

 Washington and Jefferson together!

Roosevelt Memorial...surprisingly one of my favorites! I didn't even know it was there and it wasn't as spectacular as some of the others, but it was still very well done and touched me.

The first blossoms!

A few at home...

A Rainy day at the Capitol Building! Waiting for the shuttle that never came. Thanks for walking Abuelo and Logan!

I will be back here!!
