I'm Almost There, Almost There!

Tiana sang it right!

This was the first day of our 'no screen mission' where I actually forgot that we were even trying anything new! The kids have adapted to their new circumstance beautifully. Get this, Linc didn't even ask for television once today...I don't think he whined either. He did, at one point, dream aloud about how fantastic Saturday will be because he'll get to watch a show again, but other than that, his whining has stopped and he was happy all day just doing his thing. Even though everyone is doing better, the energy they have is just as high and I feel like my brain is shot by this time at night. Thus, my blog post tonight won't be full of clever lines or funny words. I can barely think clearly to type. Thank goodness for spell check!

We got out again. I've learned that keeping busy is the key to success with this endeavor. I have a good friend who is interested in photography so I met with her this morning and gave her a little tutoring session with my camera. (It was so much fun btw!) A lot of the pictures I'm posting today were shot by her. We just let the kids be kids while she tried out her first DSLR pictures on them. I can't think of anything more fun than that, but then I am a complete camera geek. :)

After our photo session, we went to story time at the library, checked out a load of books and then headed over to good ole' Walmart for some school supplies shopping. I'll have three in school this year and it seems to me that the lists are getting longer and longer every year. Still, I love the feeling of a new school year and the excitement the kids have getting all their new school supplies. They loaded up their new back packs and are dreading the 30 something days between now and their first day.

Tonight I needed a break from cooking, cleaning, and entertaining, so we all took off when Daddy got home and ate at India Cafe on Airport Blvd. It's my favorite foreign restaurant in Huntsville. I ordered my favorite, Tikka Masala. It was a little hot, but we all gave it a try and the kids were hilarious a they guzzled water between every bite! We got home late, with no chance to miss the television and they are all sleeping soundly, worn out and happy. One day of torture left! (really, it hasn't been that bad!) Tomorrow may be different though because Daddy will be working from home and Momma will be out shooting wedding...hmmm...maybe I'll make him do tomorrow's final update. If he still has the energy.  Until then, some fun pics from today. Bye!

Logan walking the bleachers...love that scar? Oh, his ninja brother gave it to him. Don't mess.

Ellie likes her tongue still.

Yep.

Little girly friends. :)

Linc, posing for A.

My cruel shot of Ellie. I love every expression she makes, even the sad ones!

Owen hugs.

Me and my oldest. He hates to smile with his teeth.

A's picture of her daughter through a fence. Kinda cool huh!

More posing. Aren't they just the cutest!?

That tongue ting runs in the family.

Ellie doesn't get the posing thing all the way yet! :)

So silly!

Loved this one A!

Ellie and my favorite new chapstick!

I am not usually in the picture, so I was happy to have a few with Ellie! I love this girls hugs!

Bwaa ha ha!

Baggy eyed girls...

And finally...a full shopping cart of school supplies!
When you have a camera handy, you'll shoot anything.

Ellie seriously has the most infectious smile. Heck, I smile just when I hear her voice.

I love the picture of you and Elli with her eyes huge and her mouth open. It makes me smile every time I look at it!
