I had a moment tonight. After all the kids had gone to sleep I stayed up and watched Dan's and my favorite show, Extreme Home Makeover. It was about a woman and her three little boys who had lost their father. I hadn't watched the show for more than a few minutes before I had to get up and search for a box of Kleenex. When it was finished, I stayed and flipped through the channels and found a sob story Christmas show about a mom who was dying. I emptied out the remaining Kleenexes in my box, picked up my sleeping daughter from her rocker and went into my front room to stare at our Christmas tree. The wall next to the tree holds the pictures of my little guys and it occurred to me that some day those pictures would be replaced with newer ones; either that or they would be moved somewhere else in the house and become the kind of pictures we see in our parents houses of ourselves when we were little, and the styles were funny and we look so young and innocent.
Too often I think I catch myself looking forward to nap time and bed time so I can have me time. I dream about what I will do when all the kids are in school. Right now I have no idea why. If I could freeze time and keep them as carefree and crazy as they are now, I would. I don't even mind the baby powder emptied all over Owen's floor, or the brand new toy sword, bitten to pieces by Linc, or Logan's endless forts and experiments. I'll even flush the toilet and put the lid down twenty times a day if I could keep their sweet spirits young. I'm grateful for my family. And I'm grateful for their hard working and loving Daddy who has given me the privilege of being their Mommy.

Good night.

Peanut Butter and Jelly

So, does anyone remember this classic picture? It would seem that our Jelly Boy has been placed in precisely the right family. Why you ask?

I introduce you to Mr. Peanut Butter himself! They make quite a pair. Not convinced?

How about now? I'm sparing you all from the horrifying photos of our living room sofa. Let's just say that I get a craving for a tall cold glass of milk everytime I sit down to watch some television. Despite the hours of scrubbing, the aroma of peanut butter remains. It could be worse....he could have had the urge to be artistic with the contents of his diaper. I've heard that happens. I must confess, I wasn't really in the mood to play baseball this time.

Moving on to something else. Any ideas about this one? :)

Life doesn't get much better than an oversized box carved into a house. Really, who needs toys?

Oh, sweet girl!

I just....

can't get......

enough! (Neither can Linc)

Kids, Kids, Love Those Kids!

So, something new and exciting has been happening in our home lately.

Would you like to know what it is?

Ellie is smiling!
Oooo I love it! Everything that was ever difficult with her (not to mention anything that ever will be) is now completely, 100% worth it because my baby looks me straight in the eyes like this!

On another happy note....the leaves are all falling from the trees this week and my boys couldn't be happier. Here's a few pictures of them enjoying my personal favorite season.

I love hoodies. Or should I say...bunny hugs? (talk to Dan about that one)

This reminds me of and Old Navy advertisement. Hee hee.

on your mark....

get set.....

Go!

October Pics

This past month has been full of fun things for our family and I have taken so many pictures, I don't know which ones to post. I chose a few I loved. Hope you like them too!

I had to start with this one, because my silly little Owen turned two just yesterday. He is a joy and always makes Dan and I laugh. The best part about him, is that he doesn't have to try to be funny, it comes naturally with his happy disposition! We love you crazy Owen!

Wide eyed Ellie in her Halloween outfit.

Now this picture made me smile because it helps me realize how big my "baby"
is. This was taken on "crazy hair day." He looks so big!

Owen's birthday dinner. Logan is being creative as usual. Linc just informed me that Logan is being a Triceratops.

This is a great picture of Owen and his cake, but my favorite part is the background. I went to crop it today and realized that I'd be cutting off the best part. What exactly are you doing Linc? I think he's practicing those ninja moves again.......Howiyaw!

This is Ellie and one of my best friends Diana. I think they are both beautiful! She got to visit me last week and saved me from being stranded with a broken down van! Thanks Dia.

Ellie's first week to church. So pretty!
