Handsome Sunday Boys

Have you ever gotten your children ready for church and been amazed at how well they clean up? I experienced this yesterday and since I was running late anyway, figured it was as good a time as any to force them on to the couch and try to make them smile. I should have known it would be a losing battle, and I couldn't get my lighting right because it was overcast, but I got a few cute pictures and a some really funny ones! Logan has now entered the "fake smile" stage. I'm a little sad about it. Just another sign that he's growing up; then again, there's enough evidence in these shots to prove that he is still very much my little boy! I think I'll just let these pictures speak for themselves.

Paper cup binoculars

When Logan got home from school today he decided he wanted to make binoculars, and in the usual order of things, the other boys joined right in on the fun. I'm glad Logan is full of creative idea's, because I haven't had too many of them these days. Dan and I are getting closer to welcoming baby Ellie. I decided to let Dan have the final say on what her full name would be, as long her nick name was Ellie, since that's the name Logan has had picked since I was pregnant with Lincoln. He's wanted a little sister for a long time. Some of our options are Eliza, Elisabeth, Eliana, Elana and Emeline. I'm not so sure about the last one, but I like all of the others. Logan's loving school, Lincoln loves being the big guy around the house and Owen is still as happy and cute as ever. Dan's starting school again (one more semester to go!) and I'm hanging in there. Life is pretty good I'd say! Here's a few shots from the binocular spectacular today.

What goes along with paper cup binoculars?
Paper plate art of course!

Testing, testing.

It was hard to get Logan to open his eye for this picture. He was anticipating the flash, and kept closing it.

Don't they look so happy? He he he.

Not forget about Owen!

Logan's first day

Logan started school today! I didn't cry, but I kind of wanted to. It's amazing to me how yesterday I thought he looked so big, but this morning as I walked with him up the hall to his new classroom he seemed so small! I can't believe I'm sending my baby into the world all alone. He seemed a little shy about the whole situation, but happy and curious as well, so I'm sure he'll adjust alright. Now I'll have to work on adjusting myself to having him gone; the house is much quieter without him.

trips, birthdays and change

Well, today is the day I grow another year older. I suppose it's been coming on gradually throughout the year, but it sort of feels like it happened just today. I look at my life and see beafutiful children, a sweet husband, lots of family and friends and I feel like I'm a pretty lucky person! I'm twenty-eight now and still have a long ways to go, so here's to me and all the memories I have to look forward to making! I had a fun visit with my little sister last week and one of my best friends came out and just left today. It was soo good to hang out with both of them! Logan starts his first day of kindergarten tomorrow........sigh........ I'll miss him more than I'm sure I even realize. Linc's preshcool starts in a few weeks and the baby will come a month or so later. I guess some of those memories are going to be made pretty quickly. Well, I'll go for now, here's a few rececnt pictures I love.

Look comfortable? We found Logan in this neck bending position at eleven one night when Dan and I finished our movie and were heading up to bed.

Who needs a swim suit? At least he's wearing something this time!

Owen loves the water!

I tried so hard to get a shot with all three of them. It was tough, and this is all I came up with. Maybe I'll have better luck next time.
