A Day at the Ball Field

Saturday was a really fun day. Our little family spent it together, watching Logan's T-ball game, and running a lot of little errands.

Out in the county where we live there are a lot of "Home-grown" Southerners who have lived here their entire lives, and they take their ball very seriously. It makes for some interesting experiences at practices and on gameday, but they are the sweetest people. It's been a lot of fun getting to know some more families in our area, and Logan has been practicing catching and throwing at home a lot lately.

It used to be that we could throw with him inside, but yesterday proved that to now be a hazard, and we are lucky to still have all of our windows and electronics still intact. Our new house rule, is "no ball in the house!" While I was practicing catch with Logan yesterday I pegged him pretty hard in the head. We were using a real ball, so I felt pretty bad about it. He cried a bit, but he was nice about it and excused himself saying, "I'll be back in a minute!" He went out to the garage and came back with his batting helmet on and said he was ready to play some more. What a sweetie!

In the dugout

Logan and a new friend. They were more interested in the potato bugs than the game.

Ready Position

Dan took this shot. Logan was happy to be home.

A trip to Bruesters after the game. Look at how dirty my kids can get!

Lately

I haven't posted in a while because I've been so busy. Dan was gone to Utah for nine days (thankfully he's back!) and while he was gone, life as I knew it fell apart. Well, I guess I shouldn't sound so dramatic. The transmission went out in our van... while I was driving... without my cell phone... on a narrow Alabama road. After hauling all of the barefoot kids out of the van, strapping them into the stroller, getting honked at and cat-called at, (yes me. Pregnant, three kids, struggling down half a foot's worth of road side, and a truck full of guys honks and yells as they pass. The things I wanted to yell back were less than nice so I can tell you I was very lucky to have my kids there to keep me under control.) anyway, a nice lady with a minivan full of car seats pulled over and took me home. Prayers are always answered. I made a few calls to members of our ward and with in an hour, my car was at the repair shop, and I was safe at home with the kids. We were very blessed to have such wonderful friends help us out! Anyway, we have our car back and I have my husband back and the boys are as happy as ever so life is pretty good.

Dan's working on his finals this week and then his semester is done. After that he only has two classes left! Hooray! I've been busy with the boys. We play in the backyard a lot and go on a lot of walks. The boys also have a new slip n' slide that they love. I've been taking pictures, watching girl movies, and counting down the days till I have my husband all to myself again. :) Logan is in T-ball now and he loves that.

Well, I'm posting a load of pictures. Hope you all like them!

Here's Owen and his little best friend, baby M.

Linc swinging. He loves swinging on his stomach.

My little adventurer. He climbed up into this position himself. This is how he lets me know he's hungry these days. I think I get the hint.

Logan watching an airplane on the monkey bars.

Some of Linc's expressions make me want to just kiss him! Even when his face is covered in paint.

Logan likes the slip n' slide.....

Lincoln likes the slip n' slide.....

Owen DOES NOT like the slip n' slide.....

but he does like popcicles!

Logan's T-ball uniform. Isn't he handsome? (sorry, I'm a mom.)

Oh, and a few people have asked what kind of camera I have. It's a Nikon D40X. We are sooo happy we bought it. Having a nice camera makes taking pictures much more fun!

More simple fun

What's more fun than three little boys, three white buckets, a hose and big backyard? Not much around this house. I had a lot of fun two days ago playing with my camera while the boys played for hours in the water. I really have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to taking pictures and fixing them up, but I'm learning a little and it's a lot of fun. This post is full of just pictures from our afternoon. I had a hard time picking which pictures to post. Hope you like them!

Watch out Linc, Owen's got the hose!

chubby little paws.

My boy

Check out the background on this one. "I spy with my little eye..... "

I have trouble keeping clothes on this boy.

I was happy with this one.

Some one doesn't like water in the face.

" Of course I'm going to stand in the bucket!"

Monkey see, monkey do.

Linc had fallen down.

A Rainy Week

Last week it rained a lot and I was sick, so that meant that the boys and I spent a lot of time indoors. Computers and TV are only entertaining for a little while, and heaven forbid the boys actually play with their own toys, so we had to come up with some new things to do. Logan found a bag of popcicle sticks in the craft drawer and decided he wanted to make puppets, so with a little hot glue (applied by myself of course) and some old scrapbooking cut outs, we made some pretty fun little puppets! They didn't need time to dry, so Logan got right to work, building a stage. He designed and decorated himself (although Lincoln was right there with him), and after it was ready we took turns putting on puppet shows. It was actually really fun. We're saving the puppets in an envelope so we can play with them again and again. I love inexpensive and easy fun!

Linc's Show

The favorite puppets (besides Stegosaurus)

Oh, and even though this has nothing to do with puppets, I guess it's safe to say that I am pregnant again. Crazy huh? We're well past the first trimester and will find out whether or not we're going to have a house full of boys in about a month. I think I'll put a poll up in a week or so to get everyone's preditctions. Oh, and I really don't like this picture, but it shows my little baby bump. Ah well.

Pictures from Last Week

I had fun playing with my camera last week and I thought I'd share these pictures with everyone because I liked how they turned out. Let me know what you all think.

Sweaty Logan. He and Linc had just finished playing in their big blow up castle. I think now that the weather is getting warm, it's time to cut this boys hair. He sweats more than anyone I know!

I snuck this picture while the boys were watching animal shows from National Geographic's kids website. I think it is very sweet. This is a mom picture for sure.

I loved this picture! I thought it looked much better in black and white. I also defused it a little. Owen is such a happy little guy. I feel like I could take pictures of him all day long.

My favorite "baby angle." I love the way my boys look from above. The shape of their cheeks and nose is adorable to me, especially with the long lashes.

I had to include this picture because it was so funny! Yesterday I was cooking Mac and Cheese for the boys, and while the noodles were cooking I went to change over the laundry. (have I mentioned I really hate laundry?) Anyway, I came back to the kitchen and Lincoln had decided he wanted to "help" with the cheese. "I think we need a paper towel," he said then ran and grabbed a tiny piece of towel to clean up with. He was so sweet and told me he just wanted to help. After reminding him that the stove was hot and that noodles was a "mommy job", he said sorry and ran out of the kitchen. I had to laugh, I really had no other option, it was so funny, so I took a picture.
