my writing

Hey everyone. In case any of you are interested, I've been writing a story lately that I'm having a lot of fun with. I posted just a little taste of it on my writings blog. Check it out and let me know what you think.

New Camera

We finally broke down and bought a new camera. We've been thinking about it for a while now, and it just felt like the right time. I've added a few pictures to illustrate how bath time usually works around here. Don't worry, we were very discrete, you can view these pictures without having to cover your children's eyes! Oh, and I did add a few other pictures too. I'll explain them as I go.
Baths usualy begin happily for Owen, but due to the lack of enthusiasm, if you will, shown by Lincoln, they end up being a sad experience.

Linc is not very happy to be here.

Well, maybe "not happy" doesn't quite cover it.

Ok, I'd say he's miserable, and he's not just content with being miserable himself.

As they say, "Misery loves company!"

Logan must have missed that memo.

I love this picture because this is Dan's reaction to a letter Logan wrote for him all by himself. He took the time to sound out all the words. The letter is posted below.

It reads: "Dad ges wut Dad yoo rw u pig. Babme."

Translation: "Dad, guess what Dad? You are a pig. Blabber me."

Linc eats at least three apples a day.

Cell Phone

Ok, so yesterday I went all day with out my phone ringing once. I didn't think much of it until around two in the afternoon, at which time I decided it was time to see if I had just been deaf all day, or if no one actually called me. I searched my house with no luck. I tried dialing the number with Dan's cell and went directly to the voicemail. I was going insane trying to find it, to the point that I cleaned the ENTIRE house, under couches and all. (I did find a few other interesting things I won't mention here.) Finally, I gave up the search for a bit and went into my kitchen to start dinner. I was making pancakes and needed my big frying pan. It was in the dishwasher, stacked neatly next to, you guessed it..... my cell phone. It had gone through the pots and pans cycle and baked dry with the heated dry option. My little Owen was definitely the one responsible, I had no doubt, so I called his name and when he didn't respond I went looking for him. I found him playing in the potty with an entire roll of toilet paper and Logan's toothbrush. Although a picture would make this story even better, I decided I shouldn't encourage him, or the germs he was splashing around in. Oh, little boy!

Children's Museum

Hurray! The holidays are over (even though I'll miss them) and that means I'll get some of my friends who have been traveling back! Today I met my friend Kim and her little guy at the Children's Museum. Our boys had a lot of fun together and it was fun getting out. Here are some pics from the trip.
Baby O's baby blues

G likes churning that butter!

This little store was the boys' favorite spot. They spent a lot of time loading food onto the scale.

These were foam blocks, and Lincoln had to show me his circle.

Logan is always taking care of baby O. He was nervous about the mine G was playing with because it puffed smoke out when it "exploded".

I've been tagged

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.

B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.

C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. I love to dance, even though I've never taken a dance lesson in my life, and I would never dream of dancing in front of people. This doesn't mean I'm any good at it. When I say dance, I'm talking about twirling around in my kitchen to whatever music Dan's put on the ipod while my boys spin and dance with me (something I'm sure they won't do in a few years). Dan has promised me that one day, when our children are older, he'll take some kind of ballroom or Latin dance class with me. As I recall, he lost a bet, and I'm not going to forget about it either! :)

2. I would be more comfortable singing in front of an audience of ten thousand people than calling individuals and talking to them on the phone. I especially hate calling doctors offices, and other businesses. I never know what to say and I ramble myself into embarrassment.

3. I enjoy writing, especially children's stories. Logan and I make up stories together all the time. It's so fun sharing what I write with him. He's always sweet enough to listen and laugh. I also love reading children's books. My personal favorites are the Curious George books. Maybe it's because I'm raising three silly little monkeys myself.

4. I hate doing laundry. Sorting, switching, fixing stains, folding, ironing, yuck. Enough said.

5. I never fill the gas tank unless I have to, and Dan says I'm genetically incapable of putting lids on things. I can't disagree, although cooking while watching children leaves me little time to worry about lids -in my opinion.

6. I LOVE boring girl movies, especially British ones. I have two film versions and the book Pride and Prejudice, the entire Anne of Green Gables series, Sense and Sensibility, Little Women, and a number of other chick flicks I watch incessantly. Sometimes I think I should have been born in England during the mid nineteenth century. I find that after watching the shows I begin to talk and write in a rather proper manner, demonstrating my aptness in converstations relating to politics, literature and of course botany, or something of that nature.....umm yeah.
