The fates were not in poor Owen's favor yesterday. Granted, he is extremely active which leads to a little more trouble than your regular person, but yesterday was just plain bad for him. It all started out with a spray of Windex in his eye. I was right next to him, cleaning the bathroom when he walked up and grabbed the bottle. I warned him not to spray it and asked him to put it down, but this only made the container more enticing to him. He looked me straight in the eye, held the bottle up to his face and before I could get to him......sprayed. The windex shot directly into his eye and he began wailing. Of course I washed it out as fast as I could. That boy. sigh.
Then, later that day Daddy found a turtle along the road on his way home from work and had to stop and bring it home. The boys were soo excited and were warned not to touch its face, but listening is a little hard for my curious two year old and you bet the first thing he did was stick his finger in the turtles shell. It took Dan about a minute to pry its jaws open, all the while Owen was screaming and Logan and Linc were terrifyed! If you've never been bit by turtle, I can assure you from personal experience, it hurts! After the reptile released my son, we took a few quick pictures before Dan drove it to a nearby stream. Owen prayed last night that another turtle wouldn't bite him. Sigh.
And then as if being injured both chemicaly and animalisticaly weren't enough......last night after the boys had gone to sleep Dan went in to check on them. It was dark and apparently Owen was asleep on the floor. Dan didn't know it, and Owen got a swift kick in the head. He did not wake up happy. And Dan felt pretty bad!
As his unluck would have it, he woke up today with a stuffy nose. Poor guy..I really hope things look better for him next week! Anyway, here are a few pictures of the vicious turtle.....I'm still a little mad at it, even though it's pretty cute.

Ouch!! Poor Owen! I'll remember to stay away from those stray turtles!
Sorry, I can barely type for laughing. Poor little guy. What a rotten day. You can tell him that he's pretty special though, I've never known anyone to get bitten by a turtle. Oh that kid's great.
With my mere 4 months experience of tiny mishaps and "how did he get that cut"?- Eric has to keep reminding me that "boys will be boys"- Silly as it seems in a 4 month old I can read this and just imagine what I'm in store for! :)
