Memory Lane

I've been working this week on organizing all of the pictures on my hard drive. It's been a long hard process. I never know which ones to keep and which to delete, especially when the picture is of an adorable little face! Never mind the fact that I have three others just like it, (pictures, not smiling faces) I still feel like I'm doing something bad. :)

As I was looking through all the pictures I got that happy/sad feeling that comes when you see your life as it used to be. Dan and I have been blessed with a wonderful marriage and wonderful kids. Each stage so far has been unique and exciting and even though I'm happy where I am I still miss those past moments and people I loved. We have four children and are happy to be complete, but still it feels weird knowing that I've passed another landmark in my life.

When I was a kid, I always looked ahead to how great it would be to turn sixteen so I could date and get my license. Then I would graduate and go to school. I always planned on marrying fairly young and having a good-sized family and now that I've been lucky enough to get all of those things, I'm wondering, "What's next?" It seems too early to look forward to being a Grandma! I never thought very far past the kid's births, so I'm left now kind of figuring out what I want to be when I grow up to compliment my first priority job as a mother.

I'll be starting school again this summer. Now that Dan is done with his Masters, (Good job Honey!) it's my turn to finish so that will help I'm sure. I'm rambling. Anyway, the point is I found some of those landmark photos from our life together that I wanted to share. We have been very blessed!

As I think about it I suppose watching my own children reach their landmarks is next on my list. I'm going to love doing that too!

Check out the Foot Locker outfit. Those were good times! I always thought Dan looked hot in his work uniform. ;)

Since we met as poor college students, our idea of dating was more hanging out whenever one of us was out of class or off work.

Always the romantic. I was in a girls singing group that sang at an event Dan was in charge of. To say "thank you" Dan gave us each a bouquet of daisies, but in mine he added one red rose. This is when I realized he might be into me. I might have been just a little excited huh?

Getting engaged. (Dan was exhausted after, but it was worth it!)

The Wedding.

Baby number one. This picture is one of my very favorites. It was taken at our first little apartment in Logan, Utah. It's fuzzy, but I remember Dan balancing his camera on his car and pushing the timer, then racing into place. He was so excited to be a dad!

Like I said....

Logan was just as excited to be a big brother. He never once got jealous!

Owen made three.

And Ellie made four!

Apparently we need a new family picture with all of us. This is the best I had. That is Abuela and Abuelo with us.

Love the old pictures Becki. Fun to see you "back in the day". I can relate alot to your thoughts on always wanting to be a mother and being excited to get married. It is weird getting older and accomplishing all those fun things. Life is good and there are lots more things to look forward too! :)

I love this post. I totally remember you guys way back when, so it is fun to see you "all grown up". Working at Harris Research was "totally awesome". I remember when Dan was thinking about proposing and was worried because you didn't love Janet Jackson the same way he did, and he thought it might be an issue. Ha! Isn't it fun to grow up. Ben loved working at FootLocker with Dan and has a fondness for shoes still to this day.

How fun. I am totally the same way and can very rarely bring myself to delete pictures...even if they are a little blurry...

Awwwww!!!! The M4 days...wow. That pic of you guys at the table and Dan with his Foot Locker clothes on--so crazy! You guys never let me live down the fact that I bought shoes from him there...in the kids' section. Those were the days...we miss you guys! Crazy how our lives have changed, eh?

Clarissa's husband Matt is graduating next Month and then Clarissa is going back for her Master's. I told the kids to get it just as soon as they could while they are young.

I'm just catching up with blogs after being out of town and I loved looking at all of your pictures! You've got some good ones in here. But this post! This post was great. Alex was looking over my shoulder and we thoroughly enjoyed the pictures. Tell Dan he used to look like a holdlum. These were great.
